It was the 37th London Marathon, where over 30,000 people run to raise money for charity. The marathon takes runners along a course that passes many of London’s famous landmarks, such as Tower Bridge, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace. It is one of the biggest events of the year in Britain. There are many reasons for running: raising money for charity, beating personal records or just for fun. The marathon is started by members of the royal family – Prince Harry, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge. 你知道今天伦敦发生了什么事情吗？今天是第37届伦敦马拉松举行的日子，这是一个超过30,000人为慈善筹款而参加的活动。伦敦马拉松的路线经过很多伦敦标志性的地标，例如塔桥，大本钟，白金汉宫。这是今年大不列颠最大型的活动之一。人们参与马拉松跑步的原因有很多：为慈善筹款，打败个人记录或者仅仅是为了好玩。马拉松比赛由皇室成员开始--哈利王子，威廉王子，剑桥公爵夫人。 Thousands watch the marathon because it brings so many different people together and creates an amazing atmosphere. Some runners wear funny costumes to make it interesting. For example, a man in his 60s was dressed as William Shakespeare. It is incredible to see how they can run for more than 4 hours, especially when it’s so hot! Lots of people have very emotional stories for why they are running, which include supporting family members that suffer with serious illnesses. These people are extremely dedicated, and to even apply per person. 成千上万人观看马拉松比赛，因为它把许许多多不同的人聚集到了一起，并创造出一种了不起的氛围。有些参与者穿着搞怪的服装使得比赛更加有趣。例如，有一个60岁的老人把自己打扮成莎士比亚。看着他们居然能穿着这些服装跑上4个小时是令人难以置信的，特别是在那样热的天气里！很多人参与比赛背后的原因是非常感人的，有些人是为了支持某一位身患重病的家庭成员。这些人都非常投入，以至于他们会申请参加报名费大概在800元人民币的马拉松比赛。 The event attracts people from a lot of situations, and the togetherness that is created is unique. Togetherness means that all these different people, wherever they are from, feel like friends, and for this day, are helping each other to reach their goals. 这个活动吸引了怀着不同目的来的人们，所创造出来的团结是独一无二的。团结意味着这些不论从哪里来的人们，感受到彼此像朋友一样，从这一天开始，帮助彼此完成各自的目标。 Here’s a fun fact about marathons – they can make you half an inch shorter!
