The 2014 Consumer Electronics Show better known as CES has kicked off in Las Vegas with a preview of some of the world's newest, hottest technology.
LG unveiling① its new webOS-based smart TVs, which it claims will "make TV simple again".
More than 70 percent of LG's smart TVs will be based on webOS in 2014, which helps simplify searching contents and setting up the TV.
LG also expects the new OS will make it easy for developers to write applications for its TVs. The company also aims to use webOS to increase communications between smart TVs and other devices.

Content partners set to supply LG televisions with new Ultra HD, 4K content include Youtube, Amazon and online steaming service Netflix, who say they will be supplying US television drama series "House of Cards"③ in the high-quality format.
LG is also showcasing its new curved smart phone, the LG G Flex, which it describes as its most advanced smart phone yet.
Sony is taking the wraps off its latest high definition④ televisions at this year's CES.
The company's 2014 announcements include a three-product line with 4K resolution⑤.
Sony's Mike Fasulo says the X900B model took center stage at the event, one that Sony used to hype not only its television line, but its entire video line, from acquisition to display.
"From our professional 4K cameras to our cinema projectors⑥, Sony has been and continues to be at the forefront of original 4K content creation."
Sony says the X900B 4K Ultra HDTV offers improved 4K picture capabilities and allows for content to be streamed wirelessly with built-in⑦ Wi-Fi.
High-definition audio is also being shown off, with Fasulo boasting the benefits that Sony provides with its latest technology.
Fasulo says 4K resolution is a short hand way to describe devices or content that has 4,000 pixels.
"High-res audio offers three to seven times the information and higher fidelity⑧ than traditional CDs, delivering sound the way the artist meant it to be heard."
Meanwhile, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings has announced that the media company's popular "House of Cards" series will be streamed over the net in full 4K resolution.
