Canadian megastar Justin Bieber has been arrested on charges of driving under the influence, resisting arrest and drag racing.
After his arrest, Bieber appeared before Judge Joseph P. Farina via video link who set the signer's bail at 2,500 U.S. dollars.
The 19-year-old singer has since posted bail and is now out of jail.
Bieber was driving a yellow Lamborghini sports car when he was pulled over by Miami Beach police early Thursday morning.
R&B singer Khalil Sharief was also pulled over in a red Lamborghini and arrested by police.
The two had been drag racing each other through a residential neighborhood.
Raymond Martinez, Miami Beach's Chief of Police, describes the officer's interaction, "Another officer was able to stop Mr. Bieber and upon approaching the car, when he opened up the window and confronted Mr. Bieber, he smelled a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. Mr. Bieber at that point was not cooperating with the officer's instructions."
Members of Bieber's entourage had reportedly blocked off portions of the road.
Bieber's arrest could lead to much bigger problems for the singer as he faces the possibility of deportation.
