That's spelled "g-o-b-a-n-a n-a-s". What's the meaning ? Let's have an example first. The Chinese box office is going bananas for “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” which easily surpassed the Expendables movie and other late summer films in ticket sales this weekend. Tell Me More Going bananas? When I say, you’re bananas, that means I think you’re crazy ,angry or mad at something, in a good way or a bad way. Here’s a ‘bad way’ example: “Joey thinks he can still get us free tickets, even though the announcer just said they were all sold out.” “That's Joey ! He’s gone bananas.” Here’s a ‘good’ way example: “Wow, my friends are going bananas for that new Planet of the Apes movie. They love that movie.” You can go bananas, or you can be bananas. Example: “He’s bananas about that pretty girl.” US polls each year report that bananas are everyone’s favorite fruit.So If you tell an American you don’t like bananas, she might say, “You don’t like bananas?
