China will continue maintian peace: Chinese FM

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi says China will continue to maintain maritime peace and stability in the region including in the South China Sea. The Chinese Foreign Minister made the comment while meeting up with his Singaporean counterpart here in Beijing. "We will continue to consolidate the friendly relationship between us. In the meantime we will continue to maintain the peace and stability of the region, including the South China Sea. We are full of confidence and capability to do so. We hope and believe that Singapore will continue to play a positive role in this regard." For his part, Singaporean foreign minister K. Shanmugam says the two have reached a "broad consensus" on how they should be viewing regional issues. China is Singapore's largest trade partner among the ASEAN countries.
