介绍:
Tropical Storm Fung-Wong to Roll Through East China A tropical storm which has been skirting the Chinese east coast for the past couple of days is poised to roll through Shanghai this evening. Fung-Wong, which was once a Typhoon, is making a direct line toward Shanghai along the east coast. It's currently packing winds of around 90-kilometers per hour. Emergency drainage is already taking place in Shanghai in a bid to prevent massive flooding. Emergency measures are also being taken in Zhejiang, as the province begins to bare the brunt of the storm. Tang Weigui is a municipal official in the city of Ningbo. "We have required all boats to make preparations in accordance with the plan against the typhoon. For example, all the fishermen are required to return to the boats and we have dispatched personnel to be on duty and debug all the emergency-response devices." Heavy rains brought by the storm has already begun triggering landslides in the city of Wenzhou. The storm has already forced nearly 160-thousand people from their homes in Zhejiang. Fung-Wong, which is being blamed for the deaths of at least ten people in the Philippines, skirted along the east coast of Taiwan on Sunday, forcing the cancellation of dozens of flights. Once the storm rolls through Shanghai, it's forecast to make an easterly turn and roll into southern Japan before burning out.
