The third biggest movie was Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past, which took $118 million, followed by Captain America: The Winter Soldier which took $117 million. Chinese box office last week It was a very strong week for Chinese films at the movie ticket counter last week. The Chinese film "Dearest" won out at the box office, topping some very big name international titles and grossing almost 16 million USD for a very strong opener. At a distant second was the Liam Neeson actioner "Non-Stop," which added 7.4 million dollars to bring its two-week total to almost 15 million. In third place for the week, the Chinese Romance/Suspense flick "One Step Away" grossed nearly 5 million, bringing its 10-day cumulative total to over 11 million dollars. "Dawn of the planet of the apes" added 3.7 million to its herculean gross of nearly 115 million USD. In fifth place, "The Expendables 3" has not, it turns out, expended itself just yet. It added 3.6 million dollars to bring its total gross to over 17 million. Dance drama "Marco Polo" to stage in Beijing at National Theater A new version of the dance drama Marco Polo will be staged at Beijing's National Theater during Nov 11-14. The drama, which premiered in 2010, features Marco Polo's personal experience and his love story with a Chinese Princess. The new version is an upgrade directed by Chen Weiya, chief director of the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games held in August. "The most important change this time is, we incorporate the love tragedy into the background of the Silk Road. We will recreate a brilliant Silk Road in the end". The dance drama is co-produced by the Chinese National Theatre and the National Navel Song and Dance Troupe. Ed Sullivan Statue Stolen from Television Academy A statue of American television icon Ed Sullivan has been stolen from the Television Academy in Los Angeles, California. The statue, which went missing Sunday, had been on display at an outdoor exhibit at the Academy's Hall of Fame Plaza. The bronze statue of the late variety show host weighs roughly 20 pounds and is 1 foot 6 inches in height. The plaza it was taken from contains likenesses of several other legendary TV figures. The Los Angeles Police Department released a statement earlier today saying that there are not currently any leads, nor do they have video of the incident. Harry Potter Collection sets world record. A Mexican lawyer who has spent the last 14 years collecting Harry Potter memorabilia has been rewarded for his efforts with a Guinness World Record. Asher Silva Vargas,37, counts 3,097 pieces among his varied collection, which includes figures, clothes, toys and other memorabilia. Vargas said that it was never his intention to accrue such a large collection. It was Vargas' family and friends, who encouraged him to put forward his collection to Guinness World Records. The previous record was 807 pieces, which meant Vargas was a clear record breaker.
