Chinese leg of the NBA Global Games Kick off in Shanghai
NBA China will host a Fan Appreciation Day tonight at Shanghai's Mercedes-Benz Arena at the beginning of the Chinese leg of the NBA Global Games and to thank Chinese fans for their support.
The free event will give 14,000 supporters the opportunity to watch the Brooklyn Nets and Sacramento Kings participate in drills and interactive games.
NBA stars will also shoot the final five baskets in the "Shoot Two Million Hoops" campaign, which was launched in hundreds of schools and communities across Shanghai this year, to popularize the game of basketball among school children.
The Brooklyn Nets will take on the Sacramento Kings on Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai and will meet again at the MasterCard Center in Beijing on Wednesday.
Overall, nine NBA teams will play seven games in China, Germany, Turkey and Brazil as the league attempts to reach-out to a wider global audience.

They traded away Jarrett Jack, bringing in Kevin Love, and signed LeBron James, Shawn Marion, Mike Miller and James Jones, among others.

Russia will host its first Formula 1 Grand Prix at the Sochi Autodrome this weekend.
Current Formula One leader Nico Rosberg showed he remained the man to beat by setting the fastest lap in today's first practice session. Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton came in a close second.
Rosberg lapped in 1 minute 42 seconds, passing Hamilton by just 0.065 seconds.
The Marrussia team says that they will only run one car during the tournament in Russia after the accident which befell Jules Bianchi.
