介绍:
Recovery operations are underway off Indonesia following the discovery of the crash site of the missing AirAsia plane.Reports are suggesting as many as 40 bodies have already been recovered from the site, which is about 10-kilometers from where the plane was last spotted on radar on Sunday.Indonesian authorities say they've also spotted what could be a large portion of the plane's fuselage under the water. The plane with 162 people on board disappeared on its way from Surabaya of Indonesia to Singapore on Sunday. The aircraft lost contact with air traffic control shortly after the pilot requested permission to climb to a higher altitude to avoid bad weather.Questions are now being asked as to how the plane went down.Henry Bambang Soelistyo is Indonesia's search and rescue chief."I received some information last night about two fishermen who saw a plane and heard an explosion on Sunday morning. We are following up on this information in addition to our search plan."Reports have been circulating suggesting the plane was spotted on radar travelling at speeds much slower than normal for a jet of its size, suggesting the plane may have stalled while trying to get around the bad weather. However, these reports have not been confirmed.
