NBA: Harden's 24 Lift Rockets over Mavericks 118-108.
In Basketball,
James Harden scored 24 points to lead the Houston Rockets in a 118-108 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of their Western Conference series.
Six other players also scored in double figure for the Rockets.
Dwight Howard had 11 points. Jason Terry, who spent eight seasons with the Mavericks, finished with 16 points.
It's the third time these in-state rivals have met in the postseason and the first time since Dallas won a first-round series in 2005.
Dallas Mavericks Head Coach Rick Carlisle says though defeated, his team will be better in the next game.
"I think, you know, I think we're going to see some obvious things we need to do better. I think we're going to see some positive things we need to build on and from there we gotta come back in here Tuesday and get a better start to the game - that was a real key part of the game as well. We got down double digits very early and had to dig out and that's tough."
Game 2 is scheduled for Tuesday in Houston.

Chicago beat Milwaukee 103-91.
Golden State beat New Orleans 106-99.
And it's Washington over Toronto 93-86.
Arsenal into FA Cup Final for 19th Time
In football,
Arsenal has reached the FA Cup final for a record 19th time after beating Reading 2-1 this morning.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he feels it was a moment of luck that took his side through.
"I think we had 23 shots on goal and 72 percent possession, but still it was difficult to find space because they defended very well and I was surprised how strong they were in the challenges. In the second half they became even stronger in the challenges and we suffered a little bit then and lost some balls that we are we are not used to losing in the first half. In the end we were a bit lucky because their keeper made the mistake and I can understand that he's distraught but he kept them as well in the game for long periods."
Arsenal will face the winner of the game between Aston Villa and Liverpool, which take place tonight at 10 p.m., Beijing time.

League leaders Chelsea are closer to the title with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United this morning.
United dominated in possession and territory for much of the first half but created almost nothing with it.

Pittsburgh Penguins Beat Rangers 4-3, Series Level at 1-1
NHL playoff action from this morning.
The Pittsburgh Penguins levelled the first-round playoff series with the New York Rangers with a 4-3 victory.
Sidney Crosby scored twice for the Pens.
The New York Rangers had the league's best road record this season while also winning the Presidents' Cup for top overall record.
They have not won a home Game 2 since beating Vancouver in the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals.
Game 3 is on Monday in Pittsburgh.

St. Louis beat Minnesota 4-1.
Tampa Bay beat Detroit 5-1.

Edmonton Oilers win first overall pick at upcoming NHL draft
In other NHL news, the Edmonton Oilers have won the league's draft lottery, giving the team the first pick at the upcoming NHL draft.
That pick is likely to be Connor McDavid, described as a generational player and possibly the best prospect since Sydney Crosby.
This will be Edmonton's fourth first overall pick in the last six drafts. Despite the glut of top young talent, Edmonton's management has failed to develop a competitive team.
The Oilers have failed to qualify for the postseason in nine consecutive seasons.
The NHL draft will be held on the 26th and 27th of June in Florida.
Defending Champion Mark Selby Beats Kurt Maflin to Progress
In snooker,
Mark Selby beat Kurt Maflin 10-9 in their World Championship first-round match as Selby bids to become the first player to defend his maiden world title.
But it was not an easy match as Maflin lead 9-8 before Selby leveled to force the decider.

Marco Fu of Hong Kong leads Jimmy Robertson 5-4.
Anthony McGill took a 6-3 lead over Stephen Maguire, while John Higgins leads Robert Milkins by the same margin.
Marc Marquez Takes Pole Argentina
In Motorcycling,
Double world champion Marc Marquez stormed to his 24th pole position in just 39 MotoGP races, during an event in Argentina on Saturday.
The 22-year-old Honda rider completed his best lap of the 4.8-kilometer circuit in about 1 minute and 38 seconds, earning pole position for the second strait year at his event.
He is looking forward to tomorrow's race, but he says it will be difficult.
"Today was, we did a different strategy for the pole position, we used three tires, we did three exits so, Aleix (Espargaro) did the same strategy so looks like was the correct one but I know that for tomorrow Valentino (Rossi), Jorge (Lorenzo) have a good rhythm and they will be really strong."
Marquez's fellow Spaniard Aleix Espargaro starts in second and Andrea Iannone of Italy will start in third.
Overall MotoGP standings leader Valentino Rossi managed just the eighth fastest time after finding traffic on his Yamaha.
Sei Young Kim Wins The Lotte Championship
In golf,
South Korean Sei Young Kim dramatically won the Lotte Championship in Hawaii on Saturday.
The 22-year-old player became the first two-time winner on the LPGA Tour this year.
"Wow, I feel - I don't believe it, what happened there. I'm just, wow, I'm very, I'm still unbelievable right now. Yeah."
Inbee Park finished second and I.K. Kim was third.
South Korean players swept the top five places with Hyo Joo Kim and Chella Choi tied for fourth.
Moving to the RBC Heritage,
Troy Merritt shot a 2-under 69 on Saturday in South Carolina to take a three-stroke lead into the final round of the event.
The 30-year-old is seeking his first career PGA Tour victory.
Masters Champion Jordan Spieth got a lucky break at 11 when his second shot went right.
He was 9-under after a 68 along with Bo Van Pelt.
And it was Spieth's 18th time breaking par in his past 19 rounds.
