Milan Expo Kicks off, Lang Lang, Andrea Bocelli Perform
The 2015 Milan Expo in Italy has kicked off with a spectacular eve-of-opening concert, that saw international musicians perform including renowned Chinese pianist Lang Lang.
Lang took to the stage alongside Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, and The Teatro alla Scala Orchestra and Chorus in Duomo Square.
One of the pieces they performed was the Spring Festival Overture Fantasy from Li Huanzhi.
Lang said that he proposed this specific piece because he knew it could be understood by everyone from different countries around the world.
Lang has become a model for young pianists in China, where he started playing aged three in his hometown Shenyang.
The 2015 Milan Expo, with the theme 'Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life' is the first global exhibition since Shanghai's groundbreaking hosting five years ago.
The event will run until October 31.
Warner Bros rethinks film marketing after Nepal earthquake
Warner Bros is considering holding-back the release of a new trailer for its forthcoming disaster film "San Andreas."
The internal discussions reportedly surround sensitivities following Saturday's earthquake in Nepal.
"San Andreas," which stars Dwayne Johnson, is set in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake in California.
The trailer features scenes of Los Angeles skyscrapers collapsing and a massive tsunami bearing down on San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge.
Warner Bros will stick to the original May 29th release date.
At the same time, Universal Pictures says its is also moving forward with the planned September release of its new film "Everest."
"Everest" is a non-fiction account of an attempted summit by groups of climbers in 1996 which saw a dozen people perish.
Britney Spears cancels two Las Vegas shows
American pop star Britney Spears has canceled two Las Vegas shows after injuring her ankle.
After falling on stage during her "Piece of Me show" earlier in the week, Spears is rescheduling her May 1st and 2nd dates under doctor's orders.
On the night of the fall the singer thanked fans for their well-wishes and tweeted, "Had a little scare on stage tonight with my ankle but I'm ok!"
Now, it seems the organisers are erring on the safe side when it comes to Spears' health as her show is pulling in about $15 million a year.
So far, no other dates have been canceled.
"Kingsman: The Secret Service" is heading for a sequel
Hit spy movie "Kingsman: The Secret Service" is heading for a sequel following the success of the Matthew Vaughn-directed original.
The 2014 film starring Colin Firth just topped $400 million at the global box office, and a sequel is now in the works at Fox.
Samuel L Jackson, Michael Caine and Taron Egerton co-starred in 'Kingsman', which had an $80 million production budget.
Firth appeared unlikely to return for the much-anticipated sequel after his on-screen character, Harry, was shot by Valentine, played by Samuel L Jackson in the first movie.
But Vaugn is considering ways to bring him back, he said lot of people are very upset that Firth might not be in the sequel. But I'm coming up with ideas at the moment.
There has been no release date so far for the sequel.
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and SP Releasing sign film distribution deal
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and SP Releasing and have just signed a multi-year deal for worldwide film distribution.
Under the new deal, SP Releasing will acquire and distribute films in North America, and Sony will distribute SP's slate in the home entertainment and digital windows, both domestically and internationally.
Jason Price, who is heading up acquisitions and productions for SP Releasing, said the move will allow the company to be aggressive at next month's Cannes Film Festival.
The plan with any Cannes acquisitions is to open them theatrically on over 200,000 screens, with a prints-and-advertising commitment.
