Atlanta Hawks Beat Brooklyn Nets 111-87 to Advance in Playoffs
In NBA Playoffs action,
Top-seeded Atlanta Hawks cruised to an 11-87 victory to clinch a 4-2 series win over the Brooklyn Nets in New York on Friday.
With the victory, the Hawks won their ticket to the second round of the NBA playoffs.
Paul Millsap scored 25 points and Kyle Korver had 20 points for the visitors.
The Hawks' Jeff Teague had 13 assists and one rebound but finished without scoring a single point.
34-year-old Korver says that although he scored nothing, Jeff played rather well.
"I think I'll start with Jeff (Teague). I thought his pressure on the ball was amazing. We got some steals and we got to get out and run. I don't think Jeff scored a point tonight but his presence and his fingerprints were all over the game. It was one of the best games I've ever seen Jeff play. His focus and his energy really fueled that third quarter I thought."
Atlanta will host the Washington Wizards on Sunday in its second-round opener.
The Hawks have won three of their four regular-season meetings.
