China has vowed to invest hundreds of billions of yuan to boost Internet speed and expand broadband access in rural regions.
The country plans to spend more than 400 billion yuan or nearly 70 billion U.S. dollars this year, and more than 700 billion yuan total over the next two years to promote network construction.
China has decided to accelerate building of its high-speed broadband networks and improve access in 14-thousand villages nationwide by the end of 2015.
