Eastern Star death toll reaches 431
All but 11 people have now been recovered from Monday's cruise ship capsizing on the Yangtze River.
Recovery crews have confirmed 35 additional bodies have been found from the disaster.
This brings the official death toll from the capsizing of the Eastern Star to 431.
Of the 456 people onboard at the time, only 14 people have been found alive.
The ship was on a 11-day trip upstream on the Yangtze when it capsized after being hit by a tornado on Monday night.
9.42 mln sitting for China's college entrance exam
A total of 9.42 million Chinese high school students started taking "Gaokao," or the annual national college admission exam, on Sunday.
Official stats show the number of examinees marks a tiny increase from that of last year, which stood at 9.39 million.
The test lasts for two or three days, depending on the region of the country.
China likely to lower oil price
It's widely-expected Chinese authorities will be cutting gas and diesel prices this week.
It's expected retail prices will be coming down slightly, the first cut since the end of March.
An announcement is expected from the National Development and Reform Commission, China's top economic regulator, on Monday.
Under the current pricing mechanism, fuel prices can be changed every 10 working days if the global price of oil rises or falls above a certian level.
Crude prices fell last week, weighed down by concerns of oversupplies after OPEC decided to keep it daily output at 30-million barrels a day for the next six months.
China signs cooperation document with Hungary over Belt and Road Initiative
Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has signed a memorandum of understanding in cooperation between China and Hungary with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto in Budapest.
The MOU is involved in jointly building the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road.
It is said to be the first such document China has ever signed with a European country.
Szijjarto has pledged that Hungary will make concerted efforts with China toward boosting pragmatic cooperation between his country and China, as well as other European countries beyond.
The Belt and Road routes run through the continents of Asia, Europe and Africa, connecting vibrant East Asia economic circle at one end and developed European economic circle at the other.
14 MERS Infections Added in S.Korea, 1 More Death Reported
Another death has been reported in South Korea from Middle East Respiratory Syndrome.
A 75-year-old man has died from the disease.
An additional 13 others have been confirmed in the country, bringing the overall total to 64.
So far 5-people have died from the virus, which entered the country on May 20th.
The number of infections is likely to continue to rise, as the MERS virus, similar to SARS, can take upward of 2-weeks before victims begin to display symptoms.
Seven bodies of Singaporeans identified in quake-hit Malaysia's Sabah
The bodies of five more young students and a teacher from a Singaporean primary school, as well as a guide, have been positively identified following Friday's earthquake in eastern Malaysia.
Searches on Mount Kinabalu are still underway to locate a number of others still thought to be missing.
Kinabalu was rattled by a 5.9-magnitude earthquake on Friday, generating landslides which have left 13 dead and 6 others still unaccounted for.
Many of the victims are part of a group of 29 students and 8 teachers from Singapore who were hiking Malaysia's highest mountain as part of a school field-trip.
Turkey's general elections start
Voting is now underway in Turkey in that country's general election.
550 seats in parliament are up for grabs.
Close to 10-thousand candidates are running among 20-different political parties represented in the election.
Polling ahead of the vote is suggesting the ruling Justice and Development Party, the AKP, should be headed toward a 4th consecutive majority.
Turkish authorities have over 400-thousand security personnel spread out across the country to ensure the vote goes off smoothly.
Results of the vote are expected early Monday morning, Beijing-time.
Iraqi forces battle to regain oil refinery town
Iraqi security forces have retaken control of most of the town of Baiji near the country's largest oil refinery in Salahudin province after fierce clashes with Islamic State militants.
The troops and allied militias, known as Hashd Shaabi, or Popular Mobilization, entered the central part of Baiji, after hours of fierce overnight clashes with the extremist militants.
The troops and allied militias are advancing from three directions to free the small remaining pockets of resistance in the town.
Sporadic clashes have continued in the partially IS-held oil refinery near the town.
The town of Baiji sits some 200 km north of the capital of Baghdad.
