Singers Van Morrison, Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper have been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The stars have been honored at a three-hour ceremony in New York's Times Square.
Among those on-hand for the event was country singer Toby Keith, who is also a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. "I don't do award shows very often, they are all organizations and politically - you gotta go kiss everybody's rear and do all that. This is voted on by your peers and they recognized 21 years of hard work and I am honored to be here."
The event in New York has also seen Lady Gaga perform a cover of the "4 Non Blondes" hit “What's Up” to honor fellow Hall of Famer Linda Perry.
When it comes to Van Morrison, his introduction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame comes on the heels of a somewhat different honor.
The Northern Irishman was knighted last week by Queen Elizabeth.
