Zhang Guowei, Silver medalist in the men's high jump at the IAAF Beijing world championships, has won a bronze medal at the event in the Diamond League meeting in Zurich.
With that Zhang finished second in this season's Diamond Standings with nine points.
It is the first time a Chinese athlete has finished within the top three in the Diamond standings.
This is Zhang's last competition of the season. The 24-year-old high jumper is already eyeing a medal at next year's Rio Olympic Games.
In other action from Zurich,
Wang Jianan came in fourth place in the men's long jump; and Beijing world championships' runner-up Lv Huihui was seventh in the women's javelin event.
