Fast and Furious 7 may have been a big hit but the creators are now facing a director shortage for its follow-up.
The sequel to the fifth highest grossing film ever has already been scheduled for April 17, 2017 however the franchise's previous directors have turned down the opportunity.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Justin Lim and James Wan have both turned down the chance to direct. Justin Lim is currently heading the Star Trek Beyond movie.
Universal say they are actively looking for the 'right director for the next chapter of the franchise'.
It's been suggested that Fast and Furious 8 will be set in New York City.
