The news that Coldplay is headlining the 2016 Super Bowl as the annual National Football League game's halftime-show performer has been confirmed.
"Hello, I'm Chris. I'm from Coldplay. We're so excited, honored, and thrilled to play in the halftime show. It's gonna be wonderful, and hope to see you there. "
The British rock band, including Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion, will give their Super Bowl debut show on February 7 at Levi's Stadium in California.
NFL official announced on Thursday that Coldplay's halftime set will be made up of hits, including hot tracks from the new album 'A Head Full of Dreams' such as 'Adventure of a Lifetime', which is set to due later today.
Meanwhile, Coldplay will appear in a series of behind-the-scenes videos on Pepsi.com, about the making of the halftime show, which will begin on January 11th.
Formed in 1996, Coldplay rose to worldwide fame with the release of single 'Yellow'.
Sold over 80 million records worldwide, the band has five MTV Video Music Awards and seven Grammy Awards under its belt.
Earlier this year, Katy Perry starred in the most-watched Super Bowl halftime show in history, with over 118 million viewers tuned in to see her performance.
