The upcoming Chinese film 'Till the End of the World' has completed filming in Antarctica, marking the first homegrown drama shot on the continent.
Based on director Wu Youyin's namesake novel, the film's star-cast includes actor Mark Chao, and actress Yang Zishan.
The 31-year-old actor Chao says the he has suffered from eye problems while shooting in the world's coldest continent, due to the strong sunlight.
"After the first day of filming, I felt that my eye pressure was quite high. And my eyes became more sensitive to the light, along with the deterioration of my vision. My character does not wear protective sunglasses. So one day after prolonged exposure to the sun, I felt my eyes aching and vision blurring. It was scary."
This romantic drama features a love story between an arrogant millionaire and a female scientist, who were stranded in the Antarctica in a snow storm for 75 days.
Filming on the continent took 28 days to complete.
'Till the End of the World' is scheduled to be released as early as 2017.
