Russian lifter and world champion Alexsey Lovchev has been provisionally suspended after failing a doping test during the world championships last month in Houston.
Lovchev tested positive for banned substance ipamorelin in his A sample.
Lovchev says "the problem has political motives" and will fight to prove his innocence.
Lovchev rounded up the snatch, clean and jerk and overall gold medals in the men's 105 kilogram category at the championships.
He also set a new world record of 264 kilograms in clean and jerk.
