NFL: Denver squeeks into post-season following overtime victory
One game this morning from the National Football League,
The Denver Broncos have managed to secure a spot in the post-season for the 6th straight year, squeaking past the Cincinatti Bengals 20-17 in overtime.
Broncos kicker Brandon McManus shanked a late-game field goal to allow the game to go into overtime.
However, the Broncos' kicker did convert in the overtime, allowing Denver to recover a botched snap on the Bengals' subsequent return-of-downs to secure the victory.
With the win, Denver moves to 11-4 on the season, and ensures at least a spot in the playoffs.
With the loss, the Bengals blow a chance to secure home-field advantage throughout the post-season.
Arsenal Beat Bournemouth 2-0 in EPL
In football action from the English Premiership,
Arsenal has provisionally moved to the top of the English Premier League after a 2-0 win over Bournemouth.

"I think we were focused, at the start, not to concede a stupid goal and (we) got slowly into the game. I changed as well a few players, put Calum Chambers for the first time in the middle of the park, so it took us a while to get going, but after that, I think in the last 70 minutes, it was all us and we were in control of the game and did very well."
By not conceding a goal, Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech set a new Premier League record of 170 clean sheets.
With the victory, Arsenal moved one point above league leaders Leicester, who are set to take on Manchester City later tonight.

It was Chelsea failing to win its 8th in a row, drawing nil-nil with Manchester United.
Crystal Palace and Swansea also drew nil-nil.

Golden State Warriors Beat Sacramento Kings 122-103

The Golden State Warriors have earned their 4th straight win, blowing past the Sacramento Kings 122-103 this morning.
Stephen Curry recorded a triple-double, with 23 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in the victory.
The Warriors have yet to lose a game at home this season.

The San Antonio Spurs upended the Minnesota Timberwolves 101-95.
20-year-old Canadian Andrew Wiggins hit 18 points in the loss, making him the 6th youngest NBA player to score 2,000 points.

The Montreal Canadiens have regained top spot in the Atlantic Division, snapping a 6-game losing skid with a 4-3 shootout victory over Tampa Bay this morning.
Off the ice, Montreal has moved young forward Zack Kassian to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for goaltender Ben Scrivens.
The 24-year old Kassian was waived by the Canadiens over the weekend after running into some off-ice problems with alcohol.

Four games this morning from the World Junior Hockey Championships in Finland.
It was Sweden earning its 2nd-straight victory to open the tournament, shutting out the Americans 1-0.
Russia has moved to the top of Group B with a 6-4 win over hosts Finland.
The Czech Republic, who lost to Russia in overtime in their first game, have kept pace in Group B, blanking Slovakia 2-0.
And Canada, the defending champions, have logged their first victory, beating up Denmark 6-1.
Comanche Wins Sydney to Hobart Race
In sailing,
American yacht Comanche has won this year's Sydney to Hobart race, becoming the first US boat to win the annual event since 1998.
Comanche crossed the line some 50 nautical miles ahead of another American yacht, Rambler 88.

The world number 1, in winning eight events, earned around 300-thousand US dollars this year.
Mohamed Sattar Becomes First Iraqi Judoka to Qualify for the Olympic Games
In Judo,
Mohamed Sattar has become the first Iraqi judoka to qualify for next year's Olympic Games.
The 19-year-old will represent Iraq in the 66-kilogram Judo competition next year in Rio.
"Despite the security situation in Iraq, the suffering and the bad situation, as well as a lack of stadia and sportswear, we have reached unprecedented heights because of our determination to qualify for the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro."
Sattar becomes the first Iraqi to qualify on his merits.
All previous Iraqi entrants into the Olympic Judo competition have been through wild card slots.
China to Compete at FootGolf World Cup
A team from China is set to compete at next year's FootGolf World Cup in Argentina.
It will mark the first time a Chinese team has taken part in the event.
Over 300 players from 30 different countries are taking part.
The event will last for six days starting from January 5th.
Footgolf, as the name implies, is the same as golf, but players kick a soccer ball into a hole, rather than using a golf club and golf ball.
