China's property developer Wanda has announced that it will cooperate with the U.K.'s International Hospitals Group to build 3 high-end hospitals in China.
The projects are worth some 15 billion yuan or 2.3 billion U.S. dollars, including three hospitals located in Shanghai, Chengdu and Qingdao.
The hospital in east China's Qingdao will be put into use in July, 2018.
The other two will start construction within the year.
Wanda said they are also looking to expand their high-end medical services to Beijing and Guangzhou in the future.
Official data shows that health care consumption in China will make up some 7 percent of China's economy by the year 2020, with a market size of around 6.5 trillion yuan.
