A new national record has been born at the Winter Games in Xinjiang.
Speed skater Fan Kexin clocked 1 minute, 28.862 seconds in the preliminaries in women's one-thousand meter to smash the previous record which has stood for five years.
Fan is the double champion in the 500 meter event at the Speed Skating World Cup in Nagoya, Japan last month.
She is aiming for a gold medal at the Pyeong Chang Winter Olympic Games in 2018.
