"For the young actors out there, I encourage you to watch the history of cinema. Because as the history of cinema unfolds, you realize that we all stand on the shoulders of the giants. "
Brie Larson won the award for Outstanding Female Actor in a leading role for her performance in the romantic drama 'Room'.
Larson portrays the mother of a five-year-old boy Jack. The story develops as Jack escapes from the enclosed surroundings that he has known his entire life, and makes a thrilling discovery.
Also, actors of color have dominated SAG Awards amid Oscars controversy.
Idris Elba was the biggest winner at the night.
The British actor claimed the supporting actor in a motion picture prize for 'Beasts of No Nation' and best actor in a TV movie or miniseries award for 'Luther'.
This is the first time in the SAG history that a single performer has won two honors for two different roles in the same night.
Viola Davis, Queen Latifah and Uzo Aduba were also among the winners at the 22nd SAG Awards.
