Kung Fu giant Sammo Hung teamed up with veteran actor Andy Lau in Guangzhou, promoting their upcoming film 'The Bodyguard.'
Directed by and starring Sammo Hung, the film portrays a retired bodyguard, who suffers from early dementia, but steps up to fight against a crime lord in order to save a young girl.
Responsible for the fighting part, the 64-year-old star believes quality action films will revive the sluggish genre in the mainland's booming market.
Regarded as a pioneer and trendsetter in Hong Kong action movies, Hung has over 170 films to his credit, in a career that spans around half a century.
A selection of his early big-screen classics, such as 'Prodigal Son,' 'Carry On Pick Pocket,' and 'Five Lucky Stars' will be screened in Beijing's art-house theater from this Sunday.
Also, superstar Andy Lau also sat in the producer's chair while playing the lead role in 'The Bodyguard.'
The film will open in China on April 1st.
