The Canadian mens hockey team won the final gold of the games after they defeated Sweden 3-0 yesterday.
The defending champions easily defeated.
The Jonathan Toews opened scoring for Canada with seven minutes left in the first, but the score remained close until Sidney Crosby broke away to score in the second. Then with 11 minutes left on the clock, Chris Kuitz sealed the deal.
Canada is the first undefeated gold medalist in mens ice hockey since the Soviet Union defended their title in 1984 at the Sarajevo games.
Crosby said there was never a moment that his team doubted their ability to win gold at these games.
"The way that everybody played was incredible. Throughout the whole tournament we got better. There were some times when the scoring was questioned, you know, not scoring enough, but we found ways to win games. Defensively we were solid all the way through. It was nice to be rewarded. Everybody worked hard and put something into this."
Goaltender Carey Price made 24 saves during that game, making 24 saves.
The Russians took gold in the four-man bobsleigh yesterday, as well as swept the podium in the mens cross country 50km free mass start.
All those last minute medals propelled Russia to the top of the table with a final count of 13 golds, and 33 overall. Norway came in second with 11 golds, followed by Canada with 10 golds.
Nearly a quarter of those golds came from speed skater Victor An, who took three golds and one bronze.
