Rise of per capita income
The National Bureau of Statistics is reporting per capita disposable income in this country grew almost 11 percent last year.
Disposable incomes are up over 8-percent when the price factors are excluded.
The disposable income of urban residents grew by more than 9 percent, while for rural households saw their average disposable incomes rise over 12 percent.

Stricter judicial regulation
New regulations from China's judicial authorities now dictate that those who receive suspended death sentences should stay in prison for at least 22 years.
This is a 5-year increase from the previous regulations.
For convicted corrupt official at the mayoral level or above, early release from prison will have to receive approval from the central authorities.

Meteorological authorities here in Beijing are anticipating a gust of wind is heading towards the city from the country's western region.
The gusts are expected to arrive tomorrow night, which should help blow away the smog, which has been engulfing the city for the last 5-days at hazardous levels.

Supreme Court sides with Tencent
China's Supreme Court has upheld a lower court ruling by rejecting the appeal of anti-virus software maker Qihoo 360.
Qihoo has been in a lingering dispute with Tencent over alleged monopolistic practices.
The initial ruling determined that Qihoo engaged in unfair competition and should pay Tencent 5-million yuan in compensation.
