介绍:
"300: Rise of an Empire" Premiers in LA The epic Greek warfare flick "300" continues with the 3-D sequel, "300: Rise of an Empire." The second installment premiered in Los Angeles on Tuesday but injured star Sullivan Stapleton was not present. Stapleton was reportedly hurt last week while filming the TV series "Strike Back" in Thailand. Even without him, the premiere featured an impressive cast including Eva Green, Lena Headey and Callan Mulvey. In "Rise of an Empire," Greek general Themistocles must stop the invading Persian forces led by the vengeful Artemisia, who is played by Eva Green. Green had to undergo intense physical training and dieting for the role, but admits that the film fulfilled a personal dream. "I mean you know it's my first action film and the fact that she's so gutsy and brave and fearless, I loved it. You know it's kind of a fantasy because of course in real life you'd never be able to cut off heads or fight double swords. So it's kind of you know, like a little girl dreaming," said Green. "300: Rise of an Empire" opens in US and UK theaters on March 7th. A date has not been set for its release in China. "Homeland" first mass-market movie set in Fukushima released in Japan "Homeland," the first mass-market movie set in Fukushima, has premiered this week in cinemas across Japan. The film includes scenes shot in nuclear no-man's land and cramped temporary housing. The film tells the story of a Japanese farming family that is forced from their home by the Fukushima nuclear disaster. They endure cramped temporary housing conditions and crippling stress as they wait for permission to return to the land that has belonged to their family for generations. Jiro, the long-estranged second son of the family, secretly moves back to his family's farm deep inside Fukushima's nuclear no-go zone. Director Nao Kubota says his intention was not to make an anti-nuclear film but, rather, to ensure the tragic disaster is not forgotten. "I wanted to stop the situation fading from our minds, I wanted to make a film that would be relevant for a long time to come, that people could watch in 10, 20, 50 or even 100 years and see that this sort of claustrophobic situation came about. That's what I want everyone to feel, and it's for that reason it's not anti-nuclear." "Homeland" was shown at the recent Berlin International Film Festival and opened in Japan on March 1st. "Transformers: Age of Extinction" Trailer Debuts The trailer for the much anticipated film "Transformers: Age of Extinction" has finally made its debut. Director Michael Bay has made a name for himself as the popcorn entertainment master and his fans are definitely not disappointed with the explosive action featured in the trailer. Written by Ehren Kruger, the film stars Mark Wahlberg as a mechanic named Cade Yeagar who puts his family above all else. Yeagar gets involved with warring tribes of alien robots who have a knack for bringing mass destruction to planet Earth. The scope of the imagery in the trailer suggests that Bay might be looking to outdo himself with the fourth installment of the "Transformers" franchise. "Age of Extinction" will reportedly be Bay's last Transformers movie. It is set to premiere in the U.S. on June 27th. Shanghai International Literary Festival and Capital Literary Festival Begins An impressive lineup of international authors will take part in this year's Shanghai International Literary Festival, which begins today. According to the event organizers, locals can look forward to a diverse range of debates, presentations and readings from both emerging and established writers, journalists, filmmakers, historians, and more. The festival will run until March 21st. Meanwhile, a sister festival will be held here in Beijing. The Capital Literary Festival at Capital M begins on March 16th and ends on the 23rd. Among the distinguished guests in Shanghai will be writer and historian William Dalrymple, wine critic Jancis Robinson, cinematographer Christopher Doyle, journalist Evan Osnos and comedian Doc Brown. Jared Leto to Tour with Thirty Seconds to Mars Actor and musician Jared Leto has made headlines with his recent Oscar win for his supporting role in "Dallas Buyer Club." While Leto is sure to be getting plenty of job offers in Hollywood, he has announced on Tuesday that he will be hitting the road with his band instead. Leto and Thirty Seconds to Mars will be joining Linkin Park and AFI for a tour. Jared and his brother Shannon Leto started Thirty Seconds to Mars in 1998 in Los Angeles. Along with Tomo Milicevic, the band released their debut album in 2002. Since then, Thirty Seconds to Mars has enjoyed a huge fan base worldwide. The three-band joint tour is set to kick off in West Palm Beach, Florida on August 8 and hit various North American venues until it wraps up on September 19 in Concord, California.
