Once upon a time, there was a little reindeer named Rudolph. He had a very big and shiny red nose. Perhaps he was the only reindeer with a bright red nose in the world. People just called him Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer. Did Rudolph feel happy with that? No, he didn’t.
“What a terrible nose on my face!” cried little Rudolph.
Poor little Rudolph, he felt very unhappy. The other reindeer laughed at him and made fun of him.
“Oh, good heavens! Look at his nose! So strange!”
“How ugly he is!”
“Hey! Rudolph, did you wash your smelly nose?”
“Rudolph, Rudolph, go away! Don’t stand here in the way!”
Hearing this, Rudolph felt even ashamed and lonely.
On one Christmas Eve, Santa Claus was busy on its way to send children gifts. But the fog that day was very thick.
“Oh, no!” cried out Santa Claus, “ It’s too foggy. I must be lost. What can I do? My children are waiting for me!”
Just at this time, Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer appeared. Santa was so happy with Rudolph’s glowing nose.
“Come on, Rudolph! Come and guide my sleigh with your shiny nose tonight!”
“What? Me? How surprising! How exciting!” Rudolph couldn’t believe his ears. That night Rudolph guided the Santa safely to every chimney.
Santa Claus told everyone that Rudolph saved the day. From that Christmas on, Rudolph became well-known all over the world. He was so proud of red shiny nose.
