"Wake-you-up" service is quite popular these days in China. Some people now purchase the service online, and allow strangers to call them in order to remind them of dates, provide wake-up calls and tell them when time to take medicines.
Each call costs the customer two yuan, with some sellers offering monthly payment-plans at a discounted rate for each call. A few online stores have seen the number of deals reaching 500 per month.
But some lawyers are advising customers that privacy is more important than trendy services, since there is a possibility for these service providers to sell customers' personal information to others in order to make more profit.
