A group of 15 people kneeled outside the office building of New Hope Group on Monday morning in Chengdu, Sichuang Province, demanding a 1 million yuan donation from the company's chairman Liu Chang.
本周早些时候,在成都市武侯区航空路新希望大厦外,一名身患急性白血病的大学生带着14人集体下跪,手举标志牌向新希望集团董事长刘畅借款100万元治病.
The group was led by a 21-year-old college student, Mo Xiangsong, who was recently diagnosed with acute leukemia.
Mo Xiangsong promised to work for New Hope Group for the rest of his life if the company chairman, Liu Chang, covered his medical cost.
Mo's group was not positively received by the company. The group left after staff members at New Hope Group said that Liu was not in the building.
This is not the first time Mo Xiangsong has staged an activity to solicit help from the public. In his last attempt, he raised less than 10,000 yuan.
Mo said he had not yet sought the help from charity organisations such as the Red Cross Society of China, but he said he would consider that.
