According to the French culture ministry, the stolen artworks included a replica crown of the King of Siam presented to Emperor Napoleon III in the mid-19th century during a visit from the Siamese ambassador. French officials say the theft took place in "one of the most secure parts of the castle, equipped with alarms and surveillance cameras."
