After 50 days of opening, the first baby hatch or so-called "abandoned Baby Island" in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou has stopped operation for a while.
The reason is said to be due to an overwhelming number of abandoned babies that welfare organizations need to handle.
It's the first baby hatch among the 30-plus such projects nationwide to stop receiving abandoned babies.
It's unknown when the facility will open again.
Is there good enough reason to stop operating the baby island?
