1.not...but rather phrase.
释义：不是……而是……used to say that one thing is not true but a different thing is true
not …but和not…but rather都是“不是……而是……”的意思。但是but rather比but更强烈地表示与前分句的对比意味，rather 起加强语气作用。
例句：It's not always the truth that hurts, but rather the incorrect way you say it.
其实，事实并不总是伤人的，而是你用错误的方式讲述了这个事实。
but rather也可以单独拿出来用于肯定句，强调转折的语气。
