Hollywood sweetheart Jessica Alba is back for the upcoming action thriller "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For"!
As the sequel to the 2005 namesake film, the follow-up movie stars returning cast members including Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis and Rosario Dawson. Newcomers include Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Eva Green.
In this new installment, Nancy who is played by Alba is driven insane by grief and rage and is determined to get revenge.
As a mother of two, the 33-year-old actress says she was fearless when reprising her role as an exotic dancer.
"I really went for it. You know I live a pretty kind of like restrained life in my day to day and you know I have kids and I have responsibilities and I have my company, so when I got to really go for it on this and really channel the dark side I did."
Rosario Dawson, who reprises her role as femme fatale Gail, relishes the opportunity to reunite with Alba.
"You know we get to see how all the years have come by and how we've grown as women and business women and doing different things. And to be able to support each other not just with acting, but with everything else. I like belying the stereotype or the stigma of a woman in Hollywood and what she's supposed to be expecting for her future. And it's like we are not, we are making that up. We're being creative about it. We're doing it Robert Rodriguez-styles. We're doing it all!"
Playing one of the major protagonists, John Hartigan, actor Bruce Willis promises that there will be better action, higher stakes and some seriously "bad-ass women" for this time around.
"I only worked a little bit with Jessica Alba in this, not that many actors. But they have some new cast members back, they turned up the stakes, they turned up the action and it's a really great cast. It's a really great story. And 'Sin City' is a crazy, crazy idea and I can't wait to see the film."
Co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller also return for the 3D adaptation.
"Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" opens in U.S. and UK theatres on August 22nd.
