介绍:
Director John Woo presented the first trailer for his new film "The Crossing" in Beijing, which is dubbed as the Chinese version of "Titanic". Xiong Siqi has more. Reporter: Famous for directing bullet-flying action films, "The Crossing" is John Woo's first love story. Dubbed as the Chinese version of "Titanic," the big budget epic is about three couples in 1949, who take a sea voyage on a ship doomed never to complete its journey from Shanghai to Taiwan. It features an A-list pan-Asian ensemble cast, including Zhang Ziyi, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Huang Xiaoming and Song Hye-kyo. Given the cast and budget, Woo is aware that expectations are high, but the 68 year-old director is optimistic. "Of course there is a pressure, however I am confident. I believe that the audience will enjoy this film". Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming and South Korean actress Song Hye-kyo are paired up in the film. Song hinted at how her character evolves during the course of the story. "The audience will get to see the fascinating process where my character changes from an outgoing young lady into a mature woman". Huang revealed he shared some of his character's misfortunes in real life. "I've heard that the role was going to Chang Chen or Andy Lau. Regardless, after the film resumed shooting, I was approached. Coincidentally, I also broke my leg, same as the character in the film. Some people thought that I did it on purpose". "The Crossing" is split into two parts. The first part will be released on December 5th across Asia, with the second arriving in May 2015.
