介绍:
Anchor: To TV viewers, Adam Arkin is probably still best known as an actor, earning his first Emmy nomination in 1993 for his role on "Northern Exposure." But, in Hollywood, he also has emerged as a go-to director. Liu Xiangwei has the details. Reporter: Actor. Director. "Masters of Sex." "The Bridge." All of the above apply to Adam Arkin. Currently, he is the director of the season-two finale of US TV drama "Masters of Sex," in which he also starrs. (act1, Arkin, male in English) "The episode centers around, or at least my part of the story line centered around, a p.r. person who comes on to work with Masters and Johnson, packaging the work that they do for the American public, and around their kind of conflicted reaction to becoming household names and the compromises that have to be made." The episode, titled "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised," debuts this week on Showtime, with repeat telecasts through October 5th. As if doing double-duty on "Masters" wasn't enough, the 58-year-old Arkin was, at points, also filming his guest role in another drama "The Bridge," the season finale of which debuts on October 1st. (act, Arkin, male in English) "All I could do was put one foot in front of the other and show up and say, 'Who am I today?' If I thought about it too far in advance, I'd have an anxiety attack. I found the best way to approach was just show up and put on the clothes they told me to put on and do my job, and it all worked out." Arkin, the son of Oscar-winning actor Alan Arkin, has three Emmy nominations for acting. But his first Emmy win came in 2002 for directing that year's children's special "My Louisiana Home." So, is Arkin a director who acts or an actor who directs? He replied. (act, Arkin, male in English) "I like not being locked into one category. And I like the variety of things, along with getting to work on a variety of styles. I think because of the way I was brought up, and my father's approach to things, I always grew up thinking that it was part of our job to be able to adapt ourselves to a variety of styles. So, comedy vs. drama: I really love variety, and I really love getting to work with people and projects that force me to grow, because I want to keep learning. And I feel that as long as I can do that, I have a reason to keep showing up." In addition to the October 1st debut, the season finale of "The Bridge" enjoys repeat telecasts through October 9th. For Studio Plus, this is Liu Xiangwei.
