Emperor Holidays or "ba-ba-de-jia-qi" in Chinese, is an upcoming Chinese family film directed by Wang Yuelun.
Since it is scheduled to hit big screens on February 19th of next year, Wang and his team have recently released the first trailer of the film in Beijing.
It has been three months since director Wang commenced the shooting of the film. Now the new comedy film is entering its post-production phase, as the film director explained at a press conference for Emperor Holidays in Beijing.
"My film was shot in about sixty days. It has a clear story plot, but at the same time, the film has the documentary style of reality shows."
As well as being the director of the film, Wang is also part of the cast which also includes singer-actor Jimmy Lin Chih-ying, actor Guo Tao, model Zhang Liang and diver Tian Liang.
Model Zhang Liang admits he's very new to acting, so he and Wang were trained for the new film.
"As what I have said on previous occasions, whether the parts acted by Wang Yuelun and I is good or not has largely related to Guo Tao's coaching. With Guo being our teacher, our trio had devoted an excessive amount of time in acting each clip to the best of our ability."
Jimmy Lin will be cast in the villain's role in the film.
Earlier this year, "Dad, Where Are We Going?" -- the spin-off from a reality TV show of the same name about fathers trying to hack it in the outdoors with their young pampered offspring – took in nearly 700 million yuan of RMB in box office earnings.
