介绍:
Portraying the real life of the multimillionaire wrestling sponsor John du Pont, the biographical drama "Foxcatcher" is no doubt going to be the big winner of the year, as the film has garnered three Golden Globe Award nominations, including Best Picture. Starring Steve Carell, Channing Tatum, Mark Ruffalo, and Vanessa Redgrave, this haunting movie is based on the clash between the sponsor du Pont and wrestlers Dave and Mark Schultz in 1996. Nominated for his portrayal of the eccentric, delusional du Pont, actor Steve Carell, who has always been recognized as a TV comedy talent, credited director Bennett Miller. "I mean I understand the fact that I'm more well known for doing things in the comedy arena. But just the fact that I was a part of it and Bennett (Miller) invited me to be a part of it was, I think, a huge feather in my cap and I'm glad that it is resonating with people the way it is. That makes me happy." In order to find the dark heart of his troubled character, Carell had to undergone a physical transformation as to wearing a prosthetic nose and mounds of make-up. "I wouldn't describe any part of this as 'fun' necessarily. It seems like such a glib word to use in relation to this story and these people and these real lives and this real tragedy, but it was interesting to see how people responded to me in that character and in that look." Adapted from the autobiography of Mark Schultz, whose brother was the 1984 Olympic champion wrestler then got killed by his sponsor, "Foxcatcher" is prased as a powerfully disturbing true-crime saga. Currently showing in US theatres, "Foxcatcher" will be released worldwide from January 8. For Studio Plus, this is Zhang Wan.
