介绍:
The disaster genre film basically tells a story about how a search and rescue helicopter pilot and his estranged wife make a treacherous journey together to save their only daughter during a magnitude 9-plus earthquake. To prepare for those dangerous stunt falls, Dwayne Johnson admits he has received intensive training. "So I played a first responder, which was an honor to play. And what I realized is whether it is in America or anywhere around the world in any culture, first responders to disasters in an epic event like this. (He is) a very special individual, so I had an opportunity to spend time with them---the helicopter rescue pilots, learning how to operate a helicopter though not that good. And also for me, (I) was never been in a disaster genre before." An American actress, Carla Gugino, acts the pilot's wife. In fact, the couple has two children, with one daughter who had lost her life earlier in an accident. In the movie, Johnson is a heroic father but dares not face the harsh reality of having lost one child already. The Rock exposes how he thinks the pilot has a wounded heart and is unwilling to share his feelings with his wife. "The other element is about losing a child, for us, losing a daughter. To me, just as an actor having that layer was not only challenging but also very powerful and moving too. I couldn't draw from anything in my life experience because I have one child. I don't know what I'll do if I lost him, I don't know how I would respond. So I loved personally the challenge of balancing how heroic the character was, but also balancing the pain that he lived with every day of losing a child." The action thriller "San Andreas" reunites Dwayne Johnson with director Brad Peyton and producer Beau Flynn, following their collaboration on the global hit "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island." Canadian-born film director, writer and television producer, Brad Peyton, says he was influenced by two epic movies, when he was making San Andreas. "When I pitched the movie initially to the studio, there are two movies that I was inspired by directly: they were Titanic on one hand and Children of Man on the other. Titanic to me transcends the disaster movie genre. It's such an epic movie yet all I take away from it is that pure love story." "San Andreas" led the North American box office with 53.2 million U.S. dollars in its opening weekend of just the past week. Whether it will become a giant box-office hit in China, we shall wait and see. For Studio Plus, I'm Xu Fei.
