2) Everything but the kitchen sink
-When Carly went to college she took everything from her home except the kitchen sink.
-When Dave went to the restaurant with his boss, he ordered everything except the kitchen sink since he wasn't paying for it.
-When Emily and Joe got divorced, Emily wanted everything Joe owned except the kitchen sink.
Definition: Refers to almost everything one can think of.
Etymology: It is based on the idea that if you brought many things to someone, a kitchen sink is one of the last things you would bring because it is difficult to move.
Other examples:
1. When I got a work visa in the UK, mom asked me to bring everything but the kitchen sink there since everything is expensive in the UK and I might not be able to find things I need and love.
