British artist Gareth Fuller is known for his Fuller Maps series of artworks in which he draws intricate works that narrate the identity of places. Using extensive research, exploration, local knowledge and lived experience, Gareth draws out their complex personalities.
Fuller&`&s latest and most ambitious piece of map art, London Town, was drawn over a period of ten years and has been acquired The British Library and Museum of London for their permanent collections. His craft now takes him around the world, spending many months in his chosen locations, with the ambition of completing a major series of works.
He currently is based in Beijing where he has so far walked around the entire circumference of the 6th Ring road as part of his Beijing research. He speaks with Nillah Nyakoa about his research work in Beijing.
