Topic1: Woman using restaurant's tableware to feed pet dog sparks outrage (by LNJ) In a restaurant at Dalian, Liaoning Province, a video captured a woman feeding her pet dog in the tableware which is used by customers. The footage instantly infuriated people on the Internet after it was released by a local newspaper. In the video, a Teddy is seen licking some liquid from a saucer while the woman is having her meal on the same bench chair as the dog. A witness surnamed Dong said the woman arrived in the restaurant with a male friend. The woman first poured some milk tea in her palm to let her dog lick but later her friend suggested her to use a saucer to feed the dog, and no waiter came or was seen to stop her. Talking points: 1. Comments by the public: China has a large market for pets, but pet owners do not appreciate such behaviour. Here are some comments from social media users on the incident. "I also have a dog but I never take them to restaurants or shopping malls," commented @zhongzhengjianhuvip. "It is common to dine out with pets but it's definitely wrong to let them use people's cutlery. You like dogs, which does not mean others should necessarily like them. Besides, it's a public place and you should care not to foil hygiene," said @Xiayutianliulangdemiao. "I've never seen a lady passing food to her dog with her mouth. It's unacceptable and unbelievable that people and dogs use the same tableware. Everyone has his own likes and dislikes, so no one could judge but people should show a little bit of social ethics and respect to others. You like it [the dog], which does not mean all (people) like it," posted @pingerpopo. 2. local regulations regarding pets: - According to a regulation on pets management in Liaoning Province which is effective in the city since 1995, people bringing pet dogs to public places or using mass transportation services will be fined up to 200 yuan (30 U.S. Dollars).
