问题:Is consumption important to a country?
Yes, absolutely. Consumption is just as important as production when it comes to a country’s economy. The demand for goods is what drives the suppliers to produce, and if nobody is consuming anything at all, then everything the suppliers produce will become surpluses and create burden for the economy. Imagine if everybody in China stops purchasing, let’s say, computers, for example, then all of the computer manufacturers in China would go out of business within a couple of days, unless they can find other customers to sell their computers to. You see, in the context of economics, consumption and production are just two sides of the same coin, and we can’t have either one of them without the other.
consumption n.
drive v.
supplier n.
surplus n.
Imagine if 假设 (for example以外的另一个举例方式)
go out of business 停止营业 (out of business可作表语单独使用)
In the context of sth.,
two sides of the same coin
