问题：What do you think of the saying that love of money is the root of all evil?
I think this saying is totally inaccurate. First of all, it’s clearly evident that most of us have a desire for money, more or less, but only a tiny portion of the people actually commit crime because of this desire. I think having desire is one thing, but letting your desire grow out of hand is another. The love of money only becomes the root of evil when it becomes so strong and you are willing to do harm to others to obtain money. And on a side note, the saying also doesn’t take into account the fact that a lot of evil and crime has nothing to do with money, such as murder, rape, torture, or even plagiarism. Overall, I do think that evil has a direct connection with desire, but that desire can also be related to power, sex, or fame. It does not necessarily have to be related to money.
