Larry works with Transport Drivers. Inc. One morning in 2009, Larry was traveling along 165 north after delivering to one of his customers. Suddenly, he saw a car with its bright lights on. As he got closer, he found another vehicle upside down on the road. One more look and he noticed flames shooting out from under the disabled vehicle. Larry pulled over, set the brake and got hold of the fire extinguisher. Two good bursts from the extinguisher and the fire was put out. The man who had his bright lights on came over and told Larry he had made an emergency call. They then heard a woman’s voice coming from the wrecked vehicle. Approaching the vehicle, they saw that a woman was trying to get out of the broken window. They told her to stay still until the emergency personnel arrived, but she thought the car was going to explode. Larry told her that he had already put out the fire and she should not move in case she injured her neck.
Once fire and emergency people arrived, Larry and the other man backed off and let them go to work. Then, Larry asked the police if he was needed or free to go. They let him and the other man go.
One thing is for certain —Larry went above and beyond the call of duty by getting so close to the burning vehicle! His efforts most likely saved the woman’s life.

拉里在运输司机股份有限公司上班。2009年的一个早晨，拉里送完他的一个客户后沿着165号公路往北旅行。突然，他看见一辆车亮着大灯。等他走近后，他发现另一辆车倒在路上。再看一眼，他发现火焰从报废的车里冒出来。拉里靠边停车、打开刹车并拿出灭火器。灭火器喷了两次以后，火灭了。开着明亮灯光的人走过来，告诉拉里，他打了急救电话。然后他们从车辆残骸中听到一个女人的声音。 接近车辆的时候，他们看到一个女人正试图走出破窗。他们告诉她，在急救人员赶到之前静静地待着，但她认为汽车会爆炸。拉里告诉她火已经扑灭了，为了不弄伤她自己的脖子她不应该动。
救火和急救人员一到，拉里和另一个人就往后退让他们工作。然后，拉里问警察是否还需要他并是否可以走。警察让他们离开了。
有一件事是肯定的，拉里如此接近燃烧的车辆，这已远远超出了使命的召唤！他的努力很可能救了这个女人的命。
