Chinese premier to visit Africa Chinese Premier Li Keqiang is making his first trip to Africa since taking office next week. The Foreign Ministry says the Premier will visit Ethiopia, Nigeria, Angola and Kenya from May 4 to 11. During his stay in Ethiopia, Li will also visit the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa. While visiting Nigeria, the premier will also attend the 2014 World Economic Forum on Africa to be held in Abuja. Iraqi PM says certain of victory in parliamentary elections Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al- Maliki says he is certain that his party will win the country's landmark parliamentary polls. After casting his vote, Maliki described the polls as a great success for Iraq despite the withdrawal of U.S. troops from the country in 2011. Maliki, who's seeking a third term in office, also said he wishes to see a big turnout. "On this occasion I call upon all Iraqis to go to ballot boxes and participate in a large numbers in the election. I do not want any citizen to miss his right in monitoring the election, I wish to see a huge turnout, God willing we will celebrate a successful election and defeat terrorism, and those who bet on election postponement. " It's the first parliamentary elections in Iraq since the withdrawal of U.S. troops three years ago. The polling comes as the country is experiencing its worst violence since 2008. At least ten people were killed and 22 others wounded in separate violent attacks targeting polling centers today. Another Building Seized in East Ukraine Pro-Russian gunmen have seized yet another administrative building in eastern Ukraine, further raising tensions in the Russian-leaning regions. Gunmen wielding automatic weapons took control of the city council building in the city of Horlivka in the Donetsk region which borders Russia. They've already taken control of the police building for several weeks. Pro-Russians now control government buildings in about a dozen cities in eastern Ukraine, demanding greater ties or outright annexation by Russia. Searchers dismiss possibility wreckage in Bay of Bengal is from MH370 The joint international team for the search of the missing Malaysian plane has dismissed the claim that a private company had found what it believes is wreckage of a plane in the Bay of Bengal. Search coordinators say they continue to believe that the plane came down in the southern Indian Ocean off Australia. The Bay of Bengal is located between India and Myanmar, thousands of miles from the current search area. The wreckage was reported by Australian geophysical survey company GeoResonance. The company says it's not declaring the wreckage is MH370, but suggests the finding be investigated. 15 dead, 17 hurt in S. Philippine clash Heavy clashes have broken out between Philippine troops and Muslim militants in southern Sulu province, leaving 14 militants and one marine dead. A military spokesman says a group of Abu Sayyaf militants attempted to regain control of a training and storage camp that was captured by government troops. The fierce ground encounter prompted the military to launch an airstrike and ground artillery bombardment. The al-Qaida linked Abu Sayyaf is on the U.S. list of terror groups. China to overtake US economy; India trumps Japan: report A new study from the world's leading statistical agencies shows China is set to overtake the U.S. as the world's number one economy, while India has jumped into third place ahead of Japan. The 2011 International Comparison Program, which involves the World Bank, assesses economies based on purchasing power parity, an estimate of the real living costs. The results revealed on Wednesday paint a new and different picture of the global economy compared with the last update in 2005.
