Police search knife attack suspect in SW China bush
A mass search is focusing on a wooded area around 7-kilometers from the scene of the murder of four primary school children this morning in Guangxi.
Around 300 people, including police and civilians, are on the manhunt for the suspect, who has been identified as a 56-year-old man from Lingshan County, which is a rural area about 150-kilometers southeast of the regional capital, Nanning.
Local authorities say the man attacked the young children with a knife shortly after 6am this morning while the children were walking to school.
Police have issued a 20-thousand yuan reward for information leading to the suspect's arrest.
They're also calling for more people to help out in the search for the suspect.
Six killed in primary school stampede in southwest China
Six children are dead following a stampede at their primary school today in Yunnan's capital, Kunming.
22 others have been hospitalized.
Two are said to be in serious condition.
Local authorities have not explained what sparked the stampede at the primary school, which is said to be one of the best in Kunming.
Five rescued from flooded Yunnan coal mine
Six miners trapped in a flooded coal mine in Yunnan have been pulled out alive.
However, one didn't survive on the way to hospital.
The men had been underground since Wednesday afternoon after the mine in the city of Qujing flooded while they were inspecting it.
There were 8 men underground at the time.
Rescuers are still searching for the other two.
Chinese FM Urges Global Efforts Against Ebola
The Chinese government is calling for a united effort from the international community to fight the Ebola virus.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has made the call while addressing a special United Nations meeting on Ebola in New York.
Wang Yi has noted in his speech that China has already provided drugs, medical equipment and other supplies to affected countries in West Africa.
The Chinese government is also working to establish an Ebola research center outside Sierra Leone's capital, Freetown.
Once in operation, the lab will be able to deliver Ebola tests within a day.

New York City officials are moving to reassure the public that it's safe to ride the subway system in the city.
The city has been put on edge following comments from Iraq's Prime Minister, who told reporters during the UN General Assembly he has information suggesting the Islamic State has a plot to attack New York's subway network.
US officials say they have no evidence to back Abadi's suggestion.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, riding the subway, has told reporters there is "no immediate credible threat" to the New York subway system.
Zambian VP denies death reports of President Sata
Zambian Vice-President Guy Scott is denying reports President Michael Sata has died while attending the United Nations General Assembly in the United States.
Newsweek is reporting the 77-year-old Sata died shortly after being attended to by doctors from the State Department in his hotel room.
However, Zambia's vice-president says Sata's health is entirely normal.
Speculation about Sata's health started swirling on Wednesday night when the Zambian leader failed to show up for his scheduled address to the General Assembly.
But the Zambian vice-president argues there is nothing strange about Sata failing to address the General Assembly, adding that it was not mandatory that every person who attends the event to speak.
China's first space lab in operation for over 1000 days
Chinesse space officials are preparing to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of the Tiangong-1 space lab.
The experimental lab became operational on September 29th, 2011.
Tiangong-1 was only supposed to be active for two years.
However, Chinese space officials say the orbiter is still in sound condition.
China is hoping to have the nation's first space station completed around 2022.

The price for regular gasoline per litre is coming down 0.08-yuan.
Diesel prices are coming down 0.1-yuan.
Chinese authorities are obligated to lower or raise fuel prices every 10 working days if international crude prices rise or fall beyond a certian level.
HK Customs seize 286 iPhones in anti-smuggling raid
Hong Kong Customs agents have busted another attempt to smuggle the new iPhone to the mainland.
Authorities in the city say they've seized 286 iPhone 6's.
Officials say a group of men were spotted trying to load boxes of goods from nearby trees onto a boat on the Hong Kong waterfront.
When spotted, the group fled on their boat, leaving their stache of around 200-thousand US dollars worth of iPhones behind.
This is the 3rd reported cache of the new iPhones, which have been seized being moved from Hong Kong to the mainland this week.
