Retrieved AirAsia flight data recorder in good condition The flight data recorder of the downed AirAsia is in good condition and ready to be opened for analysis. Indonesia's transportation safety watchdog says that the black box, recovered by divers Monday morning, will be sent immediately to the lab in Jakarta for analysis by a Boeing aircraft. The agency says the memory can be read because the recorder has only been submerged for a few weeks. Indonesian armed forces commander Moeldoko has ordered 81 divers from the navy to search for the cockpit voice recorder. The flight data and cockpit voice recorders, known as black boxes, are vital to determining the cause of an air crash. Chinese FM Wang Yi's African Tour Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is now in Sudan, the 2nd leg of his 5-nation African tour. He is there in a push to try to broker peace in South Sudan. Wang Yi kicked off his African tour on Saturday in Kenya. There he met with Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta, among others. Wang Yi has overseen the signing of a new agreement with Kenya for the creation of a bilateral steering committee. Wang Yi is also taking suggestions of African countries in the lead-up to China-Africa Cooperation Forum set to take place in South Africa. Six mobsters killed by police in Xinjiang Police in Xinjiang have shot dead 6 people attempting to set off a bomb in the Kashgar region. Local police were tipped off about a man being seen carrying an explosive device to the area. Police say the suspect tried to attack the officers with an axe when confronted. Five others then attempted to set off the bomb. All were killed. The motivation behind the attack remains unclear at this point. Massive Unity Rallies Held in France after Terror Attacks More than 40 world leaders have joined a massive rally in Paris in a show of solidarity and strength after 17 people were killed during three days of terror attacks last week. The French Interior Ministry says it was the largest demonstration in French history, with turnout across the country estimated to be at least 3.7 million. Similar rallies were also held in major cities around the world. Over 5,000 illegal immigrants intercepted in south China A total of 5,400 illegal immigrants, mainly from Vietnam, were intercepted in Guangxi in southern China in 2014, according to a police report released today. The figure is a 20 percent increase from the previous year. Border police say about 45 percent of the illegal immigrants, aged from 16 to 45, planned to cross the border to work in the booming provinces of Guangdong and Fujian. About 47 percent of them planned to work in border areas and the rest planned to work in cities. Most of the illegal immigrants have been repatriated. Two dead, four injured in LG Display's gas leak incident Two people are dead and four others have been hurt in a nitrogen gas leak at a factry in South Korea. The incident has taken place at an LG Display plant in the city of Paju, which is about 40-kilometers northwest of Seoul. One of those sickened is said to be in critical condition. Authorities say a gas valve was opened for an unknown reason. A similar incident took place in December at the construction site of a new nuclear reactor in the southeastern city of Ulsan, leaving 3-people dead. White House to hold global security summit Feb 18 U.S. President Barack Obama is inviting allies to a security summit in Washington next month to try and prevent violent extremism. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder says the summit will be held on Feb. 18. He made the announcement in Paris at a gathering with justice and interior chiefs of European countries following the terror attacks in Paris. They agreed to boost cooperation in an effort to thwart further jihadist attacks. Further action is expected to be discussed at a meeting in Brussels this week. Australia, India move closer to FTA deal Australia and India are edging closer to an historic free trade agreement. Australian trade and investment minister Andrew Robb has led a delegation to Gujarat, the home state of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Robb said they held the first round of substantive discussions towards an FTA with India in Gujarat. The two sides are seeking a deal by the end of 2015. Australia concluded FTA deals with China, Japan and South Korea throughout 2014. Huge fire breaks out in Nigerian market A huge fire broke out early Monday in a major market in Lagos, the economic hub of Nigeria. The cause of fire is not known at the moment and no information on casualities has been relesed. The local fire department says large amounts of goods and property were lost to the inferno that gutted more than 100 shops in the section of the Balogun International Market. Beijing Street Lamps Helping Charge E-car Beijing's Municipal government has launched a pilot project to help electric car owners recharge their vehicles. The program involves around 90 new LED street lamps and ten charging poles. The lamps also act as power sources for the chargers. They've been installed on a test basis in the northern district of Changping. Drivers can recharge their e-cars free of charge during the trial of the program. Authorities in Beijing have plans to install 10-thousand charging posts for electric cars by 2017.
