对面街上来了一位新朋友， Pete很好奇新朋友的身份， 打探过后得知是跟他完全不一样的鸭嘴兽， Pete带着新朋友去跟他的旧朋友们打招呼， 希望帮助鸭嘴兽尽快适应， 可是鸭嘴兽发现跟周围的朋友们都玩不到一起， 善良的Pete不想新朋友伤心难过， 不一样，真的不能成为朋友吗？ “我们不一样，每个人都有不同的境遇” 绘本正文 It was Friday, and Pete’s friends had come to play! 星期五，皮特和他的好朋友一起玩耍 They were rocking to a new song when``` 他们正在唱新歌，突然••• BEEP BEEP BEEP 嘣嘣嘣 There was a noise coming from across the street. 马路对面传来了一阵噪音 Wire old owl had a view from his tree 通信的猫头鹰在树上远望 Pete said, ”Hey , owl! What do you see ?” 皮特说“你好，猫头鹰，你看到了什么” Owl said, ”all I see are green shoes and a red hat.  猫头鹰说。“我看到了绿色的鞋子和红色的帽子” Pete answered, ‘sounds like my kind of cat!” 皮特回答“那听上去像是一只猫！” Pete could not imagine who this new guy could be 皮特想不到新朋友会是谁 “I really hope it’s a new friend for me.” 我期望他会是我的新朋友 On Monday, Pete wanted to say hi, but he was feeling of shy, 星期一，皮特想要说些什么，但又害羞 So he just rode by and 所以他在马路上绕来绕去 By and by and by— 绕来绕去 Until finally Pete got to meet the new guy. 直到皮特遇到了自己的新朋友  Pete said “I’ve never met anyone quiet like you! 皮特说“我从没有见过和你一样的人！” You seem like a duck, and like a beaver too!”  你像一只鸭子，又像一只海狸 the new guy said to Pete. “hi, my name is Gus.  新朋友说“我叫格斯， Glad to meet you.I'm a platypus 很高兴见到你,我是鸭嘴兽” Pete said”You are not like me. And I am not like you.  皮特说，“你长得不像我，我长得也不像你。” But I think being different is really very cool.” 但是我们这样的不同真是太棒了！ On Tuesday, Pete and Gus took a walk down the street. 星期二，皮特和斯沿街遛弯 They came to squirrel, who was playing in a tree. 他们碰到了书上玩耍的松鼠 "Hi,Gus,"said Squirrel,"Climbing is easy.Try and see." "你好，格斯，"松鼠说，“爬树很简单，你也试试看。” Gus gave the tree a try, but the branch was way too high. 格斯向上够树，但是树杈太高了 “I wish I could climb like you, but climbing is something I just can’t do.” 我希望我可以和你一样攀爬，但是对我来说爬树太难了。 Pete said,”Don’t be said, don’t be blue 皮特说“不要伤心，不要悲伤” There is something everyone can do!” 一定有你擅长的事情。  On Wednesday, 星期三 Pete and Gus took a walk down the street.  皮特和格斯在大街上遛弯 They came to Pete’s friend Grumpy Toad, who said, 他们碰到了脾气暴躁的蟾蜍。蟾蜍说，  ”Come play leapfrog with me !Jumping is easy.Try and see. 来和我一起跳跃吧！跳跃很简单。跳跃很简单，你也试试看吧 Gus jumped and leaped, but he couldn’t get over Toad or Pete. 格斯跳了起来。但是并不能高过蟾蜍和皮特。 “I wish I could jump like you , but jumping is something i just can’t do.” 我希望我也能跳跃，但是对我来说，跳跃太难了。  Pete said,”Don’t be said, don’t be blue 皮特说“不要伤心，不要悲伤” There is something everyone can do!” 一定有你擅长的事情 On Thursday    星期四 Pete and Gus took a walk down the street 皮特和格斯在大街上遛弯 Soon they saw octopus, who said ,”  很快，他们遇到了章鱼哥， come juggle with me! Juggling is easy!
